These portraits were drawn from life directly onto lithographic stone with the exceptions of "Christopher Isherwood and Don Bachardy'' which was drawn onto transfer paper: and "Henry with a Bald Patch in the Middle of His Head" and "Maurice and the Flowers" which were drawn directly onto aluminum plates (abstract of Publisher's notes).
